1. Shonen Knife — Re-Cuttin' Australia/NZ 2026

Osaka trio Shonen Knife (Naoko Yamano, Atsuko Yamano, Risa Kawano) are touring Australia and NZ around the release of Let's Knife: Re-Cut — freshly recorded versions of the songs from their landmark 1992 album that first introduced the band to a global audience. Three decades on, this is the same three-chord charm that made them cult favourites, revisited by the band itself rather than a nostalgia act playing it straight.
2. betcover!! — New Portrait Tour

Led by the unpredictable Yanase Jiro, betcover!! blur art rock, avant-punk, psychedelia and smoky jazz into something genuinely hard to pin down — closer to a fragile, dangerous live experience than a genre. This Brunswick date is an early stop on their Australian run before the more widely advertised Fitzroy show a day later, so it's your first shot at catching them.
3. Brat Farrar

Brat Farrar is Sam Agostino's solo vehicle for noisy, industrial-tinged garage punk — the kind of thing that sounds like it was recorded onto a cassette of the first Wipers record. Agostino previously fronted garage-punk acts Digger and the Pussycats and Kamikaze Trio, and is out here behind his latest record GROUP, on a stacked Tote bill with The Dums, Keyo Roses Flying Circus and Burn In Hell.
4. Salmon Sisters — "Taller Than Normal" Album Launch

Melbourne alt/post-punk outfit Salmon Sisters launch their new record Taller Than Normal with support from Our Carlson, Winksy and Red40pa!nclub — a solid local bill for anyone tracking the Tote's steady stream of home-grown rock and punk.
5. Dead Pretty Fest II

The second instalment of Dead Pretty Fest, the showcase run by Naarm booking and management agency Dead Pretty Bookings, spotlighting the city's emerging underground scene. This one's a marathon bill — eleven acts across alternative rock, post-punk and indie, including Violet, Good Sniff, The Noise, The Mundaynes and Laura and the Hell Cutz — built for discovering your next favourite Melbourne band rather than following a headliner.
6. Purple Disturbance — "I Love Rob Lowe" Tour

7. Negative Approach — 2026 AUS & NZ Tour

Detroit's Negative Approach, formed in 1981 by John Brannon, are one of hardcore's most influential and brutal-sounding early bands — and this is their first-ever tour of Australia and New Zealand. For anyone who cares about where hardcore actually came from, this is as close to essential as a gig guide entry gets. They play the Tote with Gusset Rats in support.
8. Funkytown Fish

Funkytown Fish are a self-produced Melbourne indie rock band pulling from '90s riot grrrl acts like Bikini Kill and Sleater-Kinney, with an explicit aim of building a safer space for women and queer people in the local rock and punk scenes. They headline Bar Open with MONOCHROMIA.
9. I OH YOU Party w/ Armlock — Corner Hotel's 30th Birthday

10. Guttermouth — "One Last Time" Farewell Tour
