Hot Gigs and Hot Tips - 14 December

Silly season has well and truly begun. X-Mas parties and gigs are starting to happen and everyone is trying to throw one more gig in before the end. Here’s the tips for this coming week.

WEDNESDAY - Josh Pyke and Bob Evans two master singer songwriters will be entertaining the Corner. I haven't seen these guys for years so I'm looking forward to hearing their latest tales.

THURSDAY - Husky + Redspencer + Coda Chroma will be weaving their beautiful indie folk tunes at Howler.

FRIDAY - Polyester and Chapter Music Xmas Party: Habits + NUN + Twerps + Friendships + Hot the Jackpot + Time For Dreams + School Damage will be warping minds and moving feet at The Tote. What an eclectic lineup! This is sure to be a fun time! 2AM - Apes will rock that upstairs stage at Yah Yahs.

SATURDAY - Camp Cope + Harmony + Two Steps On The Water have sold out Northcote Social Club. If you are lucky enough to have tickets you will be in for a treat from these alternative indie rock faves. These bands are incredible! Like they are truly amazing!

Bone Soup has their Xmas Party at Yah Yahs which is sure to be hectic... Things will get weird! The likes of Miss June + Private Function + B.LT + Amyl & the Sniffers + Purple Duck (!!!) will be bringing their crazy punk sounds to obliterate the stage.

DZ Deathrays tear up the Croxton with Ecca Vandal + Heads of Charm... sorry couldn't resist... DZ are one of my favourite bands to see live. THEY ARE AMAZING!

SUNDAY - Howl At The Moon + Eliza Band + J. Scott McKenzie will be bringing their dark rock tunes to The Old Bar to accompany your Sunday funday beers.

MONDAY - Ripe Casual Christmas Vol. 1: Spike Fuck + Hi Tec Emotions + Jessica Says + No Local is another excellently local, alternative lineup of wonderful proportions... and this one is free! No better way to avoid the Christmas crazies.

TUESDAY - Didirri has an excellent evening planned for the final night of his residency at The Gasometer with Rowena Wise + The Peeks + Forever Son. Ease into this week with some special indie tunes.
