Sunshine Tip bring their melodic, memorable original songs in an alt-country vein to George Lane. David Bowers (guitars, vocals), Dee Hannan (mandolin, vocals) and Alice Garner (cello) perform imaginatively arranged tunes featuring sweet interweaving vocal harmonies and lyrics drawing on the well of Bowers' upbringing on the suburban frontier, where the city met (and absorbed) the country but never quite shook off its hold on the soul.
This is the vinyl launch for band’s debut EP 'We were the endlings'. The ditigal release was in December '23 & the single So Long Galveston hit No. 5 on the Australian Independent Record Labels (100% Independent) single chart.
The band has been touring Victoria, playing Meeniyan Town Hall, Archie's Creek, Bridge Hotel in Castlemaine, Commercial Hotel Terang, and closer to home: the Post Office Hotel, Brunswick Artists' Bar and Musos for Salvos with Painters & Dockers ... now they're finally hitting Melbourne's Southside to kick off their Autumn season.
Opening the night’s entertainment will be Rob Craw (Huxton Creepers) and Phil Wales (Telek, David Bridie) performing a rare acoustic set of old and new originals.
