JAZZ N’ SAMBA are usually a Bossa Nova/Jazz Duo featuring the sultry vocals of Debra La Velle & the delicate, intricate melodies of Ian Andrews on his full bodied 1951 Gibson guitar.
Their jazz influenced delivery, and tasteful interpretation of classic songs such as Mas Que Nada, Triste and Girl from Ipanema, evoke images of beaches and tropical nights.
Stylish vocals in Portuguese, English and Spanish, draw on the romance of 1960’s Bossa Novas, classic latin pop tunes, and some evergreen jazz classics.
They have been serenading overseas/interstate travellers, & local Melbournians, performing favourites and lesser known classics by Tom Jobim, Louis Bonfa, Astrid Gilberto, Georgie Fame, Sonny Rollins, Charlie Parker, Sting… as well as other musical greats.
For the first time they are very excited to collaborate with these two highly respected & seasoned musicians:
- Howard Cairns – Double Bass
- David Hicks – Percussion
So do yourself a favour… fly on down to Rio for this special night and exotic holiday afar!
