Alrighty... let's smash this... This week there is plenty to see!
WEDNESDAY - Black Mountain with Miles Brown and Medicine Voice - my pick of pretty much the whole week. These Canadian rockers sound epically wonderful! Oh how I want to see this gig so bad but it's my bro's birthday so family dinner trumps all... Damn! Also the gig is sold out so unless you have tickets you miss out. Soz. They play the Corner Wednesday.
THURSDAY - Belgrado with Miss Destiny, Spotting and Ubik at The Tote - this is a tip from a friend... I trust him... I think. Post punk from the underground scene of Barcelona... sounds interesting to me! Belgrado at the Tote this Thursday.
FRIDAY - there are literally too many good gigs to choose from Chastity Belt at the Curtin and Big Scary at the Corner would be sweet but as they are sold out I'd go with The Belligerents with Wild Honey and Neighbourhood Youth at Northcote Social Club. These dudes have the dance moves I'm telling you they are totally a fun time. Check out The Belligerents at The Northcote Social Club.
SATURDAY - Localles with Smoke Rings and Crossfire Hurricane at Yah Yahs. You might spot a few Vasco Era-ly familiar faces in this band... Just sayin'. Let's see what they got? Bring it! 2AM - pretty much no reason to leave Yah Yahs on Saturday as Telegram from the UK will keep those guitar sounds going with the second instalment of Visions... see me centre of the dance floor espresso martini in hand.
SUNDAY - who said Sundays were for resting? Rat and Co have an afternoon show at Workers so drag yourself out of bed and let their ambient electronic sounds sooth your soul. Rat & Co at Workers Club on Sunday.
MONDAY - Monday Night Mass at Northcote Social Club has a killer lineup with Gabriella Cohen (love her... she has a rad coat... and sings some great songs) and Avoid and it's FREE!
TUESDAY - Because I like gigs every night of the week in my world. Yossarian play at The Retreat... don't know a lot about these guys but I'm always up for trying some alternative rock straight from London town. Why not ey?
