Highly sought after pianist Dan Mougerman takes time out of his recent schedule touring the The Bamboos and supporting Dionne Warwick to play a very special jazz standards concert at Southside. Pianist, composer and arranger Daniel Mougerman is a graduate of the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music at Monash University. He co-leads the 11-piece salsa band, La Influencia, is currently the keyboardist for Melbourne favourites, The Bamboos and leads his own jazz quintet.
Additionally, Daniel has performed with artists/bands including: Alex Acuña, Quarter Street, The Wolfgramm Sisters, Daniel Susnjar, Veneno, NIASHA and Harrison Craig, amongst others. In 2015, Daniel travelled to Havana, Cuba where he studied Afro-Cuban music with award winning pianist Alejandro Falcon. This music has been a great influence on Daniel’s compositional approach. Back home, he has studied with luminaries including Vitaly Barishnikov and Paul Grabowsky.
