Sam Square is a unique sound on Melbourne’s alternative and electronic scene. With a voice that goes from a deep, rich baritone to a heartbreakingly fragile falsetto, Sam Square brings a folk influenced songrwiting aesthetic to his electronic sounds. In 2018, Sam Square expanded his act to include a live drummer and backing vocals/keys, which along with soft piano textures and soaring guitar solos, creates a band experience that stands out among his peers in the electronic music scene. Sam Square has spent much of 2018 writing heartfelt songs of isolation, togetherness, guilt and redemption. With an organic yet invigorating sound and featuring collaborations from some of Melbourne’s talented up and coming musicians, these songs come together on his debut EP, Halo, which releases in January 2019. To celebrate the release, we’re planning an afternoon of alternative and electronic music at the Workers club in Fitzroy, with friends Leipzig Lab and Eckul
