Cherie Currie will this week play her first ever show on Aussie soil, hitting up The Corner on Saturday night. Currie last year released solo album Reverie, although you may know her better as the frontwoman of 70s all girl rock band/purveyors of sass The Runaways. She will be joined by Tequila Mockingbyrd and Wild Violet.

Backtracking to Thursday night, local indie funk outfit The Fabric are launching new single Beside the Flames at The Toff In Town. This track has already received some triple j lovin’ and is replete with the slick horns and soulful vocals we have come to expect from this nine-piece. They are supported by NAFASI with a DJ set by Nico Niquo.

Aussie MC Urthboy brings his hip-hop act to Brunswick’s Howler Friday the 27 th. Joined by L-FRESH the LION and Okenyo, Urthboy is touring nationally in promotion of latest album The Past Beats Inside Me Like a Second Heartbeat. JUST ANNOUNCED

Experimental artists Phia and Georgia Fields are joining forces for a Double Single Launch at The Gasometer Hotel on Sunday 3 July, as part of the 2016 Leaps & Bounds Festival. The two artists have collaborated to release Open Orange, the first single from Fields’ forthcoming album. The track features Phia on guest vocals and with such great minds behind it, is bound to be a ripper!

Following the release of new single Satan, D.D Dumbo has also announced a full Australian tour, playing the Northcote Social Club on August 5 th . Additionally, Pierce the Veil will play 170 Russel both Saturday 20 th (Under 18s) and Sunday 21 st of August.
