They’ve just wrapped US shows alongside the ball-busting Dropkick Murphys, were recently announced on California’s It’s Not Dead Fest alongside punkers Rancid, while the one and only Green Day invited them to tour the globe as their support on the US trio’s epic Revolution Radio World Tour… meet the The Interrupters!
‘THE BAND PLAY EFFORTLESSLY, AND SINGER AIMEE INTERRUPTER IS CERTAINLY A SHOO-IN FOR NEXT PUNK ROCK STAR STATUS’ – UBERROCK
‘THEY SEAMLESSLY FUSE ENERGETIC BOUNCY SKA RHYTHMS WITH HARDCORE MACHINE GUN RIFFING AND A FEROCIOUS DELIVERY’ – ROCK N REEL REVIEWS
With Green Day’s Australia/New Zealand tour in April/May quickly approaching, Frontier Touring is chuffed to announce a special headline gig from Los Angeles-based, ska-punker The Interrupters – taking place at Collingwood’s The Gasometer Hotel on Thursday 4 May. Tickets are on sale Thursday 30 March.
Formed in 2012, The Interrupters – Aimee Interrupter (vocals), Kevin Bivona (guitar), Justin Bovina (bass) and Jesse Bovina (drums) – burst onto the scene after releasing their impressive self-titled debut in 2014, which saw the rockers sign with legendary label Hellcat Records. 2016 brought acclaimed sophomore album Say It Out Loud – produced by Rancid’s Tim Armstrong (who features on track ‘Phantom City’), a record undeniably fun but urgent in message.
The Interrupters’ lyrics confront everything from social control and self-empowerment in songs such as ‘By My Side’ or ‘On A Turntable’, plus issues like domestic violence in ‘She Got Arrested’. Filled with frenetic energy and bold upstrokes, this is one formidable live show!
Special guest for the night is Melbourne singer/songwriter Luke Yeoward and the Half Way. The 131's frontman and former singer and guitarist of local favourites KING CANNONS returns in 2017 with his upcoming debut album #Ghosts, released Friday 21 April: http://www.lukeyeoward.com/releases
Inspired by fatherhood to exemplify the importance of passion, #Ghosts is a perfect mixture of everything that’s influenced Yeoward in his lifetime – take a listen to title track here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVXLM15KBl0
Whether playing in front of thousands at arenas alongside Green Day next month – second show on sale now – or this up close and personal gig at the Gasometer, don’t miss The Interrupters!
