Supports - Nico Niquo & Corin!! ~~ Sydney pioneers PVT are returning for some intimate shows; their first in Australia since February 2017 and the release of their acclaimed 5th album "New Spirit".
In a career marked by uncompromising exploration, we dare say Sydney has struggled to produce a more consistent and adventurous band in the last decade, nor one more capable on stage.
With members living between Sydney and London for several years now, their recent live appearances have been few and far between. However, with the release of one of their career best albums in "New Spirit", and off the back of a recent successful European tour, brothers Richard and Laurence Pike and Dave Miller are seeking to make amends with another return to home shores in September/October 2017.
Joining them in Melbourne is the exciting electronic artist Nico Niquo, whose "In A Silent Way" album is a firm contender for album of the year at PVT HQ, as well as innovative local act Corin.
Five albums in, one gets the feeling that PVT are in a constant state of renewal; that a nostalgia-free form of evolution is their primary mode of practice, and, that they are a band that will potentially remain a creative force in Australia"s musical landscape for many years to come.
"After nearly 20 years and five albums of innovative electronica, PVT must come close to qualifying as a Great Australian Band. Longevity has not dulled them, with New Spirit a restrained, economical, mournful triumph... a futuristic kind of Australian gothic, an idea that sums up the whole of this hypnotic record." 4 Stars - Rolling Stone?
"Overwhelming and utterly sublime... In time, It (New Spirit) could easily be considered the band"s best work." 4.5 Stars - The Music
