This September, The General Assembly releases the lead single from its upcoming debut album (due late 2017).
The single, Vanishing Point, fulfils the promise of live shows that audiences have called “achingly beautiful", “divine", “so powerful and gorgeous!", "truly incredible” and “an emotional experience”.
Content-wise, it articulates the transition back to nature at death. For singer and songwriter Matt Wicking, “Lyrically, I’m particularly interested in the points where human and non-human nature connect, where the lines blur and dissolve.”
With production by D.A.Calf (Mojo Juju, Kira Puru, The Seabellies), reverb-drenched guitars create a swelling soundscape that’s undercut by distorted bass and punctuated by dynamic beats (played by Choi from Cookin’ on 3 Burners).
Support on the night comes from HOWLITE and LOUISE TERRA.
