Le Fleur are a brand spanking new Melbourne Funk outfit with all the goodness and nastiness that you need. The group was formed with the intent of bringing back the Acid Jazz Funk sound of the early 90’s, mixing it in with smooth 70’s rock overtones, adding a drop of 80’s pop and sprinkling it with improv solo’s from all members. Above all though, Le Fleur deal with nasty Funk, and Funk is what they want to do to you.
Formed at the start of the year by bandleaders Leilani Le Fleur and Bud Wilkins, the group have already drummed up a large amount of interest through the online only release of their self titled E.P, and now are preparing to conquer the stage with a night of tight grooves and stellar musicianship. As this is Le Fleur’s band launch, they plan on making it an extra special night for all involved.
Be ready to witness the first step in the Funkolution of Le Fleur…and be ready to shake down!
Also joining us are Neon City Pilot. By incorporating jazz, funk and world influences, Neon City Pilot have established themselves since their debut in 2015 as one of the most exciting young acts to come out of the Melbourne scene. The instrumental 5-piece have toured internationally and in September 2016 released their second album ‘Ghost Wings’.
Finally, SupahLove are a five piece live hip hop outfit from Melbourne"s west. A combination of left field hip hop lyricism and instrumentation inspired by fellow Melbourne bands such as Hiatus Kaiyote and 30/70.
